HIVPREC is a non-governmental organization for the prevention of HIV/AIDS through health promotion activities. It was founded by Professor Elvis EnowbeyangTarkang (PHD) a specialist in Health promotion (Social and behavioural aspects of Public Health and HIV/AIDS). He partnered with a group of Cameroonians who have a charitable and humanitarian touch. HIVPREC-NGO has as major objectives amongst others:

  • The integration of psychosocial, socio-cultural, gender, epidemiological and biomedical sciences content to sexuality and education programmes in order to explicate the real threat of HIV/AIDS and to make these programmes real education.
  • The development and introduction of training programs and workshop for parents, teachers, youths and community leaders on HIV/AIDS prevention.
  • Training of HIV/AIDS prevention educators.
  • Research and interventions on adolescents’ sexual behaviours.

Vision

HIVPREC envisions a society in which the local population is empowered to equitable access to the whole spectrum of quality social services including HIV/AIDS services.

Mission

To work in a holistic manner towards improvement in the quality of life through interventions that reduce vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.

Goal

Our ultimate goal is to create an HIV/AIDS-free nation of Cameroon.

HIVPREC operates along the following broad programme areas. These are: –

  1. Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS.
  2. HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention
  3. Sexual Behaviours and Behavioural Science
  4. Human Rights and Social Justice
  5. HIV/AIDS Monitoring & Evaluation, Advocacy, Research and Information.

We are interested in partnering with any agency in order to form a strong alliance to make a positive change and we can together truthfully say that our efforts will be supported and acknowledged in improving the quality of life among all those, whom we serve.

HIVPREC covers all administrative costs of her projects, through donations from stakeholders, and corporate organizations, patrons etc, and funds generated through consultancy services by the Promoter, Professor Elvis Tarkang and contributions from members.

HIVPREC CAMEROON

HIVPREC is a Non Governmental Organization for the prevention of HIV/AIDS through formalized education. It was set up in October 2011 by Dr. ELVIS E. TARKANG (PhD), a specialist in HIV/AIDS prevention.

OUR MISSION
